This Human Effigy Bottle represents the Indigenous children that were taken to Indian Boarding Schools. My grandmother, her siblings, and others from our Tribe were sent to the Carlisle Indian School in Pennsylvania where their hair was cut, their language prohibited, and western clothing issued.  This vessel represents her just getting her hair cut and she is holding her cut hair in her hands.  The vessel measures 13 inches in height and 4 1/2 inches in width.
